My Life In Photos

Tomorrow is December. Crazy, right? Looking back at November I did a lot of sewing, hung out with cats, and made my house Christmas-cozy.

I hope November was great for you! Bring on December! xo Jen

Sweater Weather

It's cold and snowy and winter is officially here. To top it off, we've had furnace issues so our house has been extra cold. I'm living in extra thick socks, sweatpants, and giant sweaters. I'm finding every excuse to snuggle under blankets and I'm coaxing Seymore to come snuggle on my lap.

I've been on the lookout for comfy sweaters to add to my wardrobe for the upcoming cold months I have ahead. These are my favourites:

Clockwise from top right:
1. Meowy Catmas from Look Human
2. Cat's All, Folks from ModCloth
3. Shawl-Collar Cardi from Old Navy
4. Merry Xmas Things from Look Human
5. A Cozy Touch Sweater from ModCloth

I hope you're staying warm!

Gilmore Girls Double Chocolate Coffee Cupcakes

Happy day after Gilmore Girls Netflix revival day! Have we all recovered yet from 6 hours of binge watching, loads of coffee, and piles of junkfood?! Honestly, I'm ready to sit down and watch all of it again.

To celebrate the release of Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, I made double chocolate coffee cupcakes that I know Lorelai and Rory would love.

I made the chocolate cupcakes with double-strong coffee in replace of the water in the recipe. This made the cupcakes have a more mocha flavour and tones down the sweetness of the chocolate. The frosting, however, is a super rich milk chocolate buttercream that melts in your mouth.

They were a great snack for watching one of my all-time favourite television shows since I needed all the comfort food to get me through the emotional 6 hours of episodes.

I refuse to give any spoilers but I'm itching to sit down with friends to discuss what happened.

Gilmore Girls

Like a good chunk of the population, I'm so excited for Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life on Netflix. I am also part of the population who has to work the day it comes out - Black Friday. But since I received an opening shift and will be off work mid-afternoon I have plans with my couch, pajamas, and lots of coffee while I watch all of the Gilmore Girls episodes.

The spark of excitement for the new episodes has me wanting to start the entire series from the beginning again which I think I might do after Christmas.

But in the meantime I wanted to share these amazing items that allow you to showcase your love for Gilmore Girls...

Clockwise from top right corner:
1. Coffee, Coffee, Coffee
2. Dragonfly Inn
3. Luke's Diner

Clockwise from top right corner:
1. Dragonfly Inn Poster
2. Lorelai's Winter Wonderland Candle
3. Stars Hollow Poster

And also, because I don't believe in spoilers:

Are you excited for Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life?

My Life In Photos

Winter showed up pretty abruptly over the last couple of weeks. We went from gorgeous yellow trees to bare trees in a matter of a couple of days. I have found out that raking leaves is one of my least favourite chores.

Now that fall is over I'm officially in the holiday spirit! My house is almost completely decorated for Christmas, a good chunk of my gifts have been purchased, and I'm starting my baking list this week to plan out all the holiday cookies I want to bake.

How's November been treating you?

Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them

Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them is out in theatres today and I'm so excited to go see it! I work all weekend but I'll be heading to the theatre early next week to squeeze in a Fantastic Beasts date. Every trailer released for this movie gives me goosebumps and makes my stomach flip in excitement. I cannot wait to travel back into this magical universe.

In celebration of the movie being released I shared my favourite Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them things, both clothing and books.

The clothing collection at Hot Topic, which is inspired by the movie, are absolutely amazing! The vintage styles are so pretty and I would definitely wear them. I'm also a big fan of some of the other graphic designs for their t-shirts and tanks. And, of course, a Fantastic Beasts wish list wouldn't be complete without books. The original movie screenplay was released today and I plan on picking it up this weekend. I can't wait to devour all of the writing. The colouring bo…

Book Update

I wish I had more time to read. There are so many fantastic books out there that I have on my never ending to-read list. And there's new books being released constantly that sound so good.

Goodreads has become my best book buddy since I can keep track of new book releases and books that I want to read that I may have forgot about if I didn't add them to my to-read shelf.
This is what I've read recently:

Read Hello Kitty: Here We Go! by Jacob Chabot Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them by J.K. Rowling Black Widow: The Sting of the Widow by Stan Lee Armada by Ernest Cline Black Widow: Forever Red by Margaret Stohl Another Day by David Levithan
Share book reviews and ratings with Jen, and even join a book club on Goodreads.
This is my current pile of books and audio books I have on the go right now:

Currently-reading City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare

Up Here Murals

When we first moved to Sudbury I heard about a new festival starting up - Up Here. It was a festival to take place in August and would involve indie bands and muralists from around the world. I actually haven't had the chance to attend any events or concerts; typically because it lands right before Fan Expo and I'm lost in my own world of finishing up sewing projects at that point.
But I haven't ignored the murals either. I've seen a ton of them through instagram under the #UpHere hashtag. There are still quite a few murals I haven't found in person yet but everytime we go downtown I'm on the hunt for murals. It's like a game for me.
These are the murals I've spotted since the summer:

Gorgeous, right? I'm so in love with them and how they make downtown more beautiful. I'll be sure to share any new murals I find during our downtown walks this winter.

What I'm Loving Now

I've been a busy bee and trying hard to keep up with my books, television shows, and new movies. It's been tough trying to balance everything though.

Gwen Stefani

I was obsessed with Gwen's new album back in the summer but my love for it was reignited recently. It puts me in a great mood and I find myself belting out to the songs whenever I can. It's definitely become my go-to album when I need to lift my spirits, find energy to clean, or want to dance around.

The Mindy Project

The newest season of The Mindy Project has been airing this fall and I'm loving the story line.

They've changed things up a bit in the love department for Mindy and I'm a fan! The actor playing Ben was on One Tree Hill for a while. I loved his character on One Tree Hill and he's just as sweet on The Mindy Project. I love how this show has evolved since airing on Hulu. And can I please move into Mindy's apartment?!?

What are you loving lately?
