Summer has been here for less than a week and I've already fit in an amusement park trip (Canada's Wonderland!) and bought a new bike (and went for my first bike ride in 12 years!). So far, Summer's been great.
Along For The Ride
"It’s been so long since Auden slept at night. Ever since her parents’ divorce—or since the fighting started. Now she has the chance to spend a carefree summer with her dad and his new family in the charming beach town where they live.
A job in a clothes boutique introduces Auden to the world of girls: their talk, their friendship, their crushes. She missed out on all that, too busy being the perfect daughter to her demanding mother. Then she meets Eli, an intriguing loner and a fellow insomniac who becomes her guide to the nocturnal world of the town. Together they embark on parallel quests: for Auden, to experience the carefree teenage life she’s been denied; for Eli, to come to terms with the guilt he feels for the death of a friend."
I finished up the audio book for Along For The Ride by Sarah Dessen recently and I absolutely loved it. The characters were interesting and I loved the setting and details put into it. I honestly dreamt of the beach and ocean after hours of listening to this book. It also made me want to go for late-night drives or eat pie in the middle of the night. It was a great Summer read and I definitely plan on reading other books by Sarah Dessen.
We're heading back to Algonquin Park this Summer for a few days of camping. I'm beyond excited to go and can't stop thinking about all the activities - campfires, s'mores, swimming, hikes, board games, laughing. It's going to be fantastic!
A shot from last year's camping trip.
I have plans to hang out at the lake this weekend so it should be a great weekend too.
