My Life in Photos

It's been almost one month since we moved up to Sudbury. It's been a fast month and a very busy one too. We finally went swimming at Lake Ramsey the other day and we're continuing to explore and check everything out. My Mom came up last weekend for a couple of days and we spent a lot of time driving around. We found Dynamic Earth (part of the Science Centre here) which is the home of the Big Nickel. We had quite the view of the city from there which was really nice. Oh and we also went on a moose hunt, but unfortunately didn't come across any...

Pigtails have become necessary in the heat that has finally hit us!

Cupcakes that were at my cousin's stag and doe - s'mores and sundae!

I made us a basic cherry chip cake when we first moved in since we were lacking in the 'treat's department. Sprinkles make everything so good!

Froyo date on my last visit into Hamilton.

Craftiness

If you don't follow my Facebook page or twitter, you may have missed that I did a HUGE Etsy update over the last week or so. All my pouches and pillow cases are now in the shop! And I'm offering a discount for International Geek Girl Pen Pals Club members: IGGLE10 for 10% off!

I have two big comic conventions coming up in July and August - ConBravo! and Fan Expo Canada. I won't be updating much in between those two shows since I need to bring as much product as I can with me. So if you have your eye on something in my shop, I'd recommend picking it up sooner than later since I won't be updating very much between now and September and I can't guarantee I won't sell the items in my shop now at the conventions.

And, I'm sure you've all heard by now... but Google Reader is shutting down on July 1st. So remember to either add my blog to your Bloglovin' account or follow by email (on the right sidebar). You can also move your Google Reader RSS feed t…

Style Inspiration

ModCloth has always been the site that I go to when I want to drool over amazing, retro-looking dresses. But I think I'm also in love with their dresses because of the fabrics and prints they use. Yes, I love retro A-line dresses, but when the dress is made from fabric covered in wine, it's make me love the dress 10 times more! Quirky, graphic prints have become my weakness <3

Outside Adventures

Since moving up to Sudbury, we've been on handful of walks around the city.

Our first path we explored, was in the nearby conservation area. Unfortunately it was a damp day and we were completely eaten alive by mosquitoes so we didn't go as far as we wanted to. But the small part we did see was beautiful and so magical. At first you could catch glimpses of the backs of houses between the trees and then all of a sudden we just hit a spot that can be explained as 'fairytale'- like.

On one of the sunnier days, we decided to check out the boardwalk along Lake Ramsey. We walked from Bell Park towards Science North. The view was gorgeous and I found ducks!!

I'm looking forward to checking out more of the conservation areas and hiking trails but I know now to coat myself in bug spray first! And I can't wait for the weather to get warmer here so we can go swimming in Lake Ramsey this summer!

Home: Favourite Spots

I've been putting off this post because even though we're almost completely unpacked, there's still a lot of personal touches I want to make in our new place. Pictures need to be hung and decorations placed in their perfect spots. But for now, I thought I'd showcase some of my favourite things and areas in our new home.

The kitties adjusted fairly quickly to the new place. But the 5 hour drive up North was not pleasant. Anyone who has fur babies, you know how heartbreaking it is to hear your pets cry for you. They were both in carriers in the backseat, and though Logan slept most of the way, Seymore was pretty upset with me. I'm so happy that they've found a comfy zone in the second bedroom/craft room. They've claimed the extra bed and started snuggling with the blanket. See, we don't allows the cats in our bedroom. Seymore tore apart my box spring when I first adopted him and when Adam moved in, he brought toads with him that Seymore was way too curiou…

Weekly Adventures

So I spent my first full week in Sudbury. We've done a little bit of exploring, got attacked by mosquitoes, unpacked 95% of the boxes, put up shelves, and done some shopping. It's feeling more like home and I'm enjoying how quiet our building is.

I had a very productive and fun weekend here. On Friday we had another IGGPPC Google Hangout, which you can watch here. Unfortunately Emma wasn't able to do it with us because of the time difference and she was sleeping!

Afterwards, Adam and I ventured out to our local Silvercity for a movie date. The theatre was unbelievably packed but it made sense. Man of Steel, Star Trek: Into Darkness, Now You See Me, and This Is The End are all out right now! We decided on seeing This Is The End.

The movie was hilarious! I mean, there were a few parts that were just silly and very much toilet-humour. But overall, I laughed for the majority of the movie and the ending made be tear-up b…

Life Inspiration

It's not really a secret but I thought I'd share it here.... Do you have a dream in the back of your mind of some ideal job you'd love to have? Yeah, me too. For as long as I can remember I always wanted to have my own store and over the last 5 years or so I've been dreaming of having a bakery/coffee shop/gift store. And all the gifts will be handmade (and will include my own items)!

My love of cupcakes has brought me into many cupcake shops over the last couple of years and I could probably just settle with a cupcake shop... and maybe sell tea and coffee as well. Oh, and just imagine a coat rack in all of these photos with adorable handmade tote bags and maybe a shelf with little pouches and aprons.... yeah, that's what I see. So I'm back to a cupcake/coffee/gift shop!
