Fan Expo 2011 Recap

What a crazy fast summer! It’s hard to believe its September tomorrow. This past weekend was Fan Expo Canada, which always marks the end of summer for me.  This year, however, it was 4 days instead of 3. I have to admit it completely flew by. I’m still recovering from it and I feel like I could sleep for days. I posted a ton of photos on my flickr from this weekend but this post is pretty picture-heavy as well... Day 1 – Thursday I was amazed at how busy it was considering it was the first day and shorter than the other days. There was a fair amount of cosplay as well which I was also surprised about. It was a great day to get a feel for the show, take a walk around, scope out the contests and giveaways going on, and meet your neighbours in Artist Alley.
Day 2 – Friday This was the first full day of the weekend and it was a lot of fun! Personally, my sales on Friday were just as good as Saturday’s sales (which is normally my best day) so we definitely had a lot of people com…

Fan Expo Canada

Tomorrow is the first day of Fan Expo Canada and it goes right through to Sunday. It's going to be an amazing weekend! Every year it's incredibly fun and this year will be the best yet, I'm sure of it!

I've been a very busy girl sewing and after packing up my stock tonight I realized that I have more than enough which is a huge relief for me.

I was able to make more character items this year since I've been pretty lucky locating thrifted sheets. Some lucky person will be able to have this one-of-a-kind Ghostbusters tote bag! That is if I don't keep it for myself... we'll see if I can part with it.

I'll be in Artist Alley at Table A226 for all 4 days - come say hi!

Work Week

With Fan Expo less than a week away I have pretty much spent every night preparing for it this month. My sewing machine ended up seizing up Sunday night which was a horrible experience. I don't want my machine dying on me 10 days before the biggest show of the year. Thank goodness for friends who can lend me their sewing machine!

I finished up some pillows last night. I'm tempted to keep Sailor Moon! I'm sad to say I've used up the majority of my Sailor Moon supplies...

And tonight I sewed up some character tote bags. The Captain America fabric is one of my favourites that I found in Jo-anns.

What have I been watching while I sewing? Well, I started Gilmore Girls from the beginning again. It's a great show to have on while you craft because you don't have to watch the tv constantly to understand what's going on. The dialogue is one of the best things about Gilmore Girls. I don't know what it is about that show but it puts me in the best mood.

Oh and I…

Movie Fashion

I love when I watch a movie or a tv show and the wardrobe is amazing and inspires me to try new outfits or make more of an effort when I get ready in the morning.

Tonight we watched Wild Target and Emily Blunt's character did just that. Her clothing was so much fun and I adored that she paired tights with every outfit. Her tights and boots looked wonderful with her colourful skirts.

It was a cute movie and of course I loved Rupert Grint in it! I think because of my love for Rupert and Emily I'm a little biased but I really enjoyed it.
Well it's late and it's back to work tomorrow... Night! xo Jen

Today is National S'mores day!  So I thought I'd give you some eye candy...

Source These pictures make me want to throw a party and serve a s'more dessert! Lately, I've been itching for a house with a yard. The humidity and heat here isn't as bad as it was. The evenings are really lovely and I wish I had a yard to relax in or have a barbecue. After these pictures, I want a yard to have a summer party in!
I hope your day was sweet! xo Jen

My Week in Pictures

Last weekend was a long weekend for me since there was a holiday on Monday. We went up north camping at Grundy Lake Provincial Park. I have never been that far up north before. You watch the environment change as you drive along the highway... rock formations start to line the highway, the trees get bigger and thicker. And the stars! I've never seen that many stars! It was an amazing weekend of swimming, fishing, and bonfires!

The kitties have been super affectionate this week. I think it's because we haven't been home as much and they miss us. At least that's what I think when I snuggle them.

I am happy we adopted Logan last year because the companionship they have together is cute.

They both clean each other, though, it usually turns into a fight.

Yes, Seymore's tongue is sticking out!

Adam pointed out that I wore 2 different purple shirts with underpants on them over the weekend... whoops!

As you can see I've been busy sewing... I finished up all the totes I…
